Microsoft Office Word is a software application which is used for creating and sharing documents easily and comes with a wide variety of writing tools. Microsoft Word comes along with the Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft Word on the Macintosh operating system creates WMTP files which are essentially temporary files which are created while a word document is being edited. This is done in order to be able to recover the orginal document in case the user wishes to remove all the changes he made or in case of a crash the document as well as the changes can be recovered for the user so his effort and hard work are not lost. Once the file is saved the temporary files are removed and the changes are written back to the document.
