WTF in itself stands for WoW (World of Warcraft) Text File. This is a standard ASCII text based file that is used by the Warcraft game for storing the game related information and data that belongs to the users. These files can be opened or edited using any standard text based editors. These text files are used for saving various games settings on the user machine and are generally saved in a file named config.wtf. It also saves the audio and display settings of the game at that point when it was created. Realmlist.wtf is another WTF file that is used by World of Warcraft for storing the information and data relevant to the realms within the game in which the players can play. These WoW settings can generally be modified by opening and editing the WTF files manually using any standard text editor but it is recommended not to do so. In case you wish to try doing it then you should make it a point to backup the file before editing it since in case you make incorrect changes it may corrupt the file or even the game.
