Visio is a software that has been developed by Microsoft and is used for authoring, creating, designing and publishing web applications based on the .NET framework. Visio uses VTX files that are essentially templates files that are used for creating new drawings or charts with the help of Visio in a particular style. These are also used for creating, designing business process flows and workflows. These files may also be used as the starting point for the creation of multiple diagrams which have a very similar layout of the data based on the VTX template files that describe the layout structure that should be used by a web page. These VTX files are XML format files and are hence required to be parsed and read accordingly by the Visio software for getting the details about the layout of the web sites. These XML format VTX files are essentially standard ASCII text based files which can be opened or edited using any standard text editor. These files are very similar in structure to the .VST files used by the Visio software.
