File Extension VRO

File type: DVD Video Recording Format File

About the VRO file type:

If Windows cannot find the appropriate program associated with .VRO files, then your registry may have errors. Check your Windows registry for errors (includes file association errors).

VRO file format is a format that is used for the purpose of stream live or real-time video recordings of DVD quality videos from DVD discs. These files contain the actual video as well as audio recordings data. These files are compatible with .IFO files which are used for telling the DVD players regarding the location of the VRO files. The VRO files can also be easily converted into other standard formats such as the .VOB format which is also used for DVD quality video files. The conversions can be performed using software applications such as the AuthoringWare DVD Integrator as well as AVS Video tools for VRO Conversion. Certain video-editing softwares can read the VRO format files if the extension of the files is changed from VRO to MPG however this doesn't make any difference on the actual format of the file and the data within the file. The compression and decompression algorithms used in the VRO files remain the same and the softwares which are able to play the files after renaming the files are able to do so only because they are able to perform the decompression of the VRO format files. It is generally not recommended to change the extension of the files extension but even if you do so and you are still unable to play the files in any media player then you should rename the files extension back to VRO.
