Acucorp is a software that presents users with an open system in which one can code in COBOL, ACUCOBOL-GT and also lets you write a program just once but to be able to execute the program on virtually any operating system platform such as Windows, MacOSX or Linux without having to rewrite the code or even recompile it. This has been achieved by using a special pseudo code based system. What Acucorp does it that instead of producing a executable file in native code for the platform on which it is compiled it produces first an intermediary file which is also sometimes known as byte code which is independent on the nature of the platform it is compiled on and is only directly dependent on the programming language, or the program that is written using it. These intermediary files can then be interpreted by the software on any platform, all it requires is that this software should be installed on the system. During the run-time the intermediary code files are executed by a native runtime platform.
