TIB is a disc image format that is created using the Acronis True Image software. It contains a complete and exact copy of the hard disk, which can then also be mounted on a virtual disc drive and used just like any other physical CD or DVD. These files can also be opened using a special ISO reader software such as ISOBuster and it will read and display the complete contents of the disc image as they were on the physical disc just like any archiving software displays an archive file and also allows one to extract them to a desired location of even any specific file from the disc. These files may be a single standalone backup file or it may also be an incremental backup file that contains just the additional changes in the disc from the last backup. Acronis True Image Home or Workstation software editions can create the True Image discs of the hard disks directly on an individual computer or even remotely through the network using the special Acronis True Image Enterprise Server Edition.
