Two different files have to be generated for running Csound - a score file and an orchestra file. These are essentially text files .sco is used as the extension for the score files. Csound makes use of the extension .sco to describe the notes that have to be played on the instrument given in the *.ORC. ORC is the text file that stores the instruction used in CSound Programming language, which defines the set of instruments for music synthesis. Csound's facilities for music synthesis enable an assortment of platforms for composition and performance. It has been used for a wide range of music styles ranging from techno, ambient, experimental, pop and computer music. In addition, it is also used for TV and film.
