About the RFL file type:

The RFL file extension is used as the file extension for the component package for the Reason application. The Reason application is a song creation application that comes with an advanced sequences and a virtual studio rack. This package may also contain song files, samples, patches, AIF, WAV, and REX files. The AIF and the WAV files are compressed to about 50% of their original file size. This is done when these two are stored in ReFills. The compression is done using the ReFill Packer. To open, modify, or play the RFL files, the user needs to install the Properllerhead Software's Reason program.
