The RDF file extension is associated with the documents written with the Resource Description Framework. The files using the RDF file extension were also used in RSS 1.0 or RDF Site Summary feeds for publishing updates to different Web pages. These files are also utilized by some Web browsers like Mozilla Firefox to store its toolbar, window and plug-in settings. Though not very often, this file extension is also used in defining Report Definitions.
