When an MOV file link is clicked, the Web browser will automatically load the MOV file in the browser window to be displayed with the plug-in. However, when a QTL file link is clicked, the file type will not be registered to the Windows plug-in. The full player will just be registered. Thus, the user will be required to download the said file, or open the said file using the QuickTime Player. The QTL file extension is often recognized by the QuickTime Player 5 application or later version. Therefore, the QuickTime application is needed.
