MPG2 is a format with standard combination of video and audio to compress the data in a lossy format for retaining original quality of the video. This is used to display video after downloading in a simple format with low bit rate. The MPEG-2 is used by the developer for displaying or broadcasting digital media with the transport streams TS and Program stream PS as container format. MPG2 can transmit video and audio through terrestrial, cable and direct broadcast for displaying over the television. TV receivers are designed to receive such signals and display as the DVD players and computer do. Moving Pictures Expert Group made this format in joint collaboration with ITU-T and is used for most television formats. The transport stream carries all audio and video in lossy format while maintaining the quality of the data and Program stream is included to maintain high quality for players which were designed for reliable players like DVD and SVCDs. This carries data at 4 to 9 MBit/sec
