ActiveSky is a comprehensive weather engine as well as sky graphics generator upgrade which has been made specifically and exclusively for the Flight Simulator program by Microsoft. The .MET file is essentially a compressed archive file which contains the details of the weather conditions which includes METAR information, TAF information and winds aloft stations data at specific locations on specific dates within the Flight Simulators. Today however it has become obsolete and is not in use anymore.
