These are server generated HTML files on the internet which are written using Java code. Java which is a programming language developed by Sun Microsystems is used for writing the code within these pages. These files are passed, compiled and executed by Web Servers and then their output is send to the computer of the user who had requested for the file. The user on the client browser never sees the actual java source code that went in behind the development of that page. He only sees the HTML code that was generated from the compilation and execution from the web server. These files are essentially text based files and can be opened and edited using any standard text editors.
