This is an image file format that is a formal extension which is used for JPEG 2000 files. The JPEG2000 is a new standard which is an improvement over the older JEG standard format which could be used for large image files using either loose or lossless compression. This format also supports for image transparency. It retains spot channels as well as alpha channels and it can also additionally contain metadata which can describe the contents of files. These files are also used for the software projects created for development using the Jbuilder software application.
