About the IFF file type:

Invalid file associations could be the result of underlying issues within your Windows PC. It is highly recommended to scan your PC for invalid registry entries, unused processes and other slowdown issues.

This is a file format that was developed by the Electronic Arts Company and is now a universal file format. These files can contain images, text or even audio data which is used often as the basis for several other formats and is also supported by a lot of programs. These IFF files are made up of small sections of data which are known as 'chunks' and are identified using four-letter Ids. Three main types of chunks are LIST, FORM and CAT. The FORM chunk describes the file format, the LIST contains the file properties and the CAT type defines the rest of the information. Each of the chunks may contain raw data, numerical data or textual data. These files are used by the game SIMS as well as SIMS Online and can be edited using IFF Windows or Pencil of IFF Snooper on the MacOS.
