The program is a productivity and collaboration software application that offers various link to different kinds of information on the Novell GroupWise database. The GWI files are binary files that provide links or shorcuts to items in the GroupWise database. The Novell Groupwise database is a workgroup program that provides users with scheduling functions for email and diary. When the user clicks on the GWI file, the Novell Groupwise application is executed and links or shortcuts are then offered for the GWI file. Since it is merely a link file, no other program is required to open the GroupWise database object that is linked to the GWI file extension. The absence of the original object in the GroupWise database will render the link or shortcut obsolete since there is no longer an object linked to the GWI file extension.
