File Extension GP5

The GP5 file extension is used by the Guitar Pro version 5 of Arobas Music to store music tablature files. With the program, musicians can easily compose or write musical items and directly perform an editing process of the compositions. When the user runs the file, a guitar tab can be created to enable musical scores or compositions to be saved. The program has been useful for any stringed instruments particularly the guitar, bass and banjo instruments. The GP5 file extension however does not have actual audio data but can nevertheless be used to play back the instrumental sounds since it lists down all the required data for the stored compositions, track separation as well as the required edits for the program. With the program, the musical tablature can be recreated in audio format. The file can be opened on any Windows and Macintosh operating platforms unlike other versions of the program.
