File Extension FPX

File type: FlashPix bitmap

About the FPX file type:

If Windows cannot find the appropriate program associated with .FPX files, then your registry may have errors. Check your Windows registry for errors (includes file association errors).

FlashPix uses the FPX file extension to name all its image files. FlashPix is a special file format where images can be saved in two or more resolutions. The FPX file extension functions to name all the FlashPix-formatted images. What makes the FPX file extension helpful for users is its ability to help in faster downloading and saving some bandwidth. When a request for a certain FPX File is sent through a Web browser, the resolution will adjust so it can be downloaded quickly. Although this file format is larger than the TIFF, it is more useful for Web image sharing.
