File Extension FH10

The FH10 file extension is employed in the identification of the Macromedia Freehand file. The application Macromedia Freehand is an image and graphics rendering tool optimized for desktop publishing and Web development specifically for the Web development range of Macromedia. In order to open an FH10 file, users would have to install the Macromedia FreeHand. The computer application Macromedia Freehand is used for the creation of two-dimensional vector graphics which involves the usage of geometrical primitives like lines, curves, polygons, and points in representing images. These projects will then be saved in the FH10 file extension. The process is also known as geometric modeling. FreeHand is quite similar in the intended market, functionality and scope of the Adobe Illustrator. It has been created by Altsys and was licensed to Aldus which had released the versions 1 through 4. When Aldus was incorporated with Adobe Systems, the overlapping of the market with the Illustrator resulted in Adobe returning FreeHand to Altsys after the merger. The latter company was then acquired by Macromedia which had released FreeHand 5.0, 7, 9, 8, 10, 11/MX and 5.5. It was in 2005 that Adobe purchased Macromedia which resulted in the return of the FreeHand to Adobe.
