The FGD file is the file of Folder Guard Data. The computer security software Folder Guard is used in controlling access to folders, files and other resources in Windows including the Start Menu, Control Panel, etc. Folder Guard employs the files with the FGA file extension, an acronym for Folder Guard Attributes, in the storing of the protection configuration that the user has assigned to the folders, filters and files, the user's list added to the User List, the permission the user has set up for each of the user, including other information. After the restrictions have been set up, Folder Guard prompts the user to save the modifications that have been made on the file and the next time the Folder Guard is run, it opens the restricted file. The present restrictions file name is displayed on the title bar of the Folder Guard's main window. In many cases, it is already sufficient to have a single file for storing the restrictions. However, only a single file could be active each time and that is the last file that had been saved in the disk that contains the Folder Guard.
