The FGA file extension is used in identifying the Folder Guard Attributes. The FGA file extension identifies whether or not the file belongs to the data security or folder guard local encryption application. For protecting a folder or a file, the user would have to assign a desired protection attribute to it by employing the Folder Guards commands. The attributes stored in the FGA file extension utilized by the Folder Guard are classified into the visibility and access attributes. When allocated to a file, the access attribute prevents the opening or running of the file when it is an application. When allocated to a folder, it can prevent the opening of the files in the given folder of any of the contained subfolder by assigning to them a variety of attributes. The said attribute also stops alteration to the file from being saved in the same folder, creation, renaming and deleting subfolders or files.
