The FCD file extension is employed in identifying the First Choice Database file. The FCD file extension is used for the database management utility known as First Choice which allows users to create powerful databases quickly and with ease. The integrated software package First Choice has been designed to run on MS-DOS in PC-compatible computers. The software also includes database, spreadsheet, word processing and many other modules. This flat file database is DOS-based and is capable of allowing the formatting and display in the Web browser of First Choice databases. Another application known to use the FCD file extension is the Virtual CD-ROM. The uncompressed image of the CD-ROM is created using the Virtual CD versions 1 to 3. It is supported in the later versions of the Virtual CD but is saved in another format. The Virtual CD has also been expanded with the addition of a number of new improvements and features including the innovative snapshot functionality, unlimited number of virtual burners, better readout algorithms, image additions, compatibility of Virtual CD drives with USB flash drives, and job execution for automatic image creation. The Virtual CD has the capability of virtualizing users' DVDs and data and music CDs, and saving them using an efficient data compression utility on the computer's or server's hard disk. Virtual CD drives behave exactly like the actual drives in the Windows workstation.
