The CRD file extension is also used in Windows versions earlier than Windows 95 as a database file. The file had been rendered obsolete by other versions but is still capable of viewing the CRD files particularly those using the CardMate, AZZ Cardfile and crdexp.zip applications. From the time Windows 95 was introduced, the Microsoft Company deleted the CRD file extension from the Windows default installation. The old CRD files may still be imported and used in the cardfile format through the AZZ cardfile. Finally, the CRD file is also used in the Spanish Whiz Card Game as a Sound file in order to broaden one's vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills of the Spanish language by providing games, exercises and a dictionary to achieve its objectives.
