File Extension CR2

File type: Canon Raw Image File

About the CR2 file type:

Invalid file associations could be the result of underlying issues within your Windows PC. It is highly recommended to scan your PC for invalid registry entries, unused processes and other slowdown issues.

Two applications have been primarily associated with the use of the CR2 file extension. These are the Canon Digital Camera software and Curious Labs. The Canon program uses the CR2 file extension as its raw image file format. When the CRC file extension is executed, raw and uncompressed images are saved in the Canon Digital cameras. These raw images are pieces of data that directly originate or appear on the camera's CCD detector. The files with the CR2 file extension may also have some text data regarding the pictures as well as the circumstances on the camera's condition at the time the picture was shot. Typically, the images use the .tiff image format and have settings that allow the adjustments on white balance and exposure effects through a software application that enables editing of images.
