File Extension BMK

The .bmk file format is employed by the Windows Help of Microsoft in every program it runs. The Help file allows the usage of associated type of files such as the Help Bookmark or BMK, the Help Project File or HPJ, the Bitmap Image or BMP, the Rich Text Format or RTF and others. Once the Windows Help application is accessed, the contents of the file extension .bmk display the precise location of the information required to satisfy the search query of the user. Moreover, the file extension .bmk provides the Help file of Windows with information about what pages inside the help file have been accessed already by the computer user. These are then marked with the appropriate color assignments for the links. The relative value of specific pages is also stored in the consequently opened Help file.
