About the ALL file type:
If Windows cannot find the appropriate program associated with .ALL files, then your registry may have errors. Check your Windows registry for errors (includes file association errors). The ALL file extension is associated with the song file created by the Cubase application. This is a multi-track audio file which incorporates both MIDI and audio tracks under a single sound project. Cubase is popularly known in the IT industry as a computer application that caters to music recording and production with support for sound mixing to deliver music in CD format or via Internet streaming. This program intends to bring professional studio quality functionalities to home computer users to allow for the creation of excellent music data right from their homes. The ALL file extension is the default format for all Cubase song files from its inception in 1989 up to 2001 with the release of the Cubase VST 5.1. This file extension format is commonly accompanied by an ARR format file which represents the music arrangement file implemented by Cubase. The application had the inherent capability of opening song files created from versions that are older than itself; thereby making the process of upgrading a non-issue.

The ALL file extension usually documents contained information about tempo, track parts and certain options like muting. The fourth version of Cubase marked the first instance wherein the program had no backward compatibility support for songs and projects. To allow importation of older files, the Cubase SX3 and SL3 were made available for downloading to provide backward compatibility function. Another work around was to manually export tracks by creating new projects under the Cubase 4 version. The ALL file extension supports MIDI music sequencer along with digital audio editing programs which are normally referred to as Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). The initial version of this program was supported by the Atari ST computer system in 1989. The projects created by this application provides the user with a way of editing MIDI files, raw audio tracks and similarly associated data such as lyrics. The ALL file format supports event lists, editing console, and musical score feature sets among others.
